Given that our setting is so special and unique we don’t offer any parking for guests and we believe that’s part of our charm! Grove Barn Café can only be reached on foot, and the walk is all part of the experience. It’s not a demanding walk, in fact for most it’s a leisurely stroll from the centre of Ambleside – simply turn left at Grain Cafe onto Stocksghyll Lane and you will see the sign for the waterfall, continue up past the The Force and beyond the cattle grid and we are a short walk up the hill.
Tucked in the heart of Stocks Valley, the café is surrounded by 160 acres of Grove Farm where conservation and nature thrive. Roe deer, native cattle, hares, and birdlife roam freely, creating a backdrop that feels both wild and welcoming – we didn’t want to ruin that with a car park! No paving of paradise here! If you have accessibility needs, please contact us (07788 420311) to arrange support to ensure that you can enjoy the view. Here, every step brings you closer to a place where you can pause, reconnect with nature and enjoy the unspoilt beauty of Cumbria.
